ARZBERG CAVE

Walk in the footsteps of the cave bear

This natural cave under special environmental protection is located at the northwest of Arzberg Mountain. It consists of three tiers. For each guided tour, a heavy entrance gate is opened for visitors wanting to walk in the footsteps of the cave bear.

Light: LED headlamps

Access: A 30-minute hike from the parking area near Krimpenbach. The hike is quite difficult. Hiking boots are required. The guided tours leave and end at the bottom of the valley adjacent to the Arzberg cave parking area.

Tours:  Guided tours only. The cave can be visited from 25 April to 15 October during daylight hours and under the direction of a certified cave guide. Helmets and headlamps are provided. Expect your clothing to get dirty. Children six years and older must be accompanied by an adult. Tours need to be booked in advance at Tourismusverband Wildalpen. Minimum group size: 6; no more than 10 persons per guided tour. Larger groups will be split into two tours with an additional guide.
